Windows 10 May 2020 update: Everything you need to know

Microsoft is all set to release the Windows 10 Mandatory May 2020 update for all the running Windows systems. And this time it will be a mandatory update for all. The main purpose of this update will bring new features to help with productivity, security and speed.

Message from Microsoft

From the report of March, Windows 10 now is running on more than 1 billion devices and as there will be no more official support available for Windows 7, it is quite clear. Microsoft wants the users either to update thier system or get a new device. This is one of the key reason to push the users to rollout the Windows 10 Mandatory May 2020 update this May.

Version details

The two new versions of updates are namely- Windows 10 versions 2004 and 20H1.

These versions will include:

  1. Cortana: This versions will bring cortana more alive. This update will let cortana to integrate with Microsoft Office 365 freely. Also some improvements in AI assistance have been made.
  2. Search Home: Four quick search access, i.e. top news, new movies info, today in the history and weather update.
  3. Kaomoji: Microsoft was working on Kaomoji and this time we can expect them ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) to come up with other emoji.
  4. Easy bluetooth connectivity: This will allow to pair with new or existing bluetooth devices through pop-up notification on your system. You don’t have to go to settings to connect anymore.
  5. Virtual Desktops: It will allow you to rename your virtual desktops, without getting stuck with the system-issued names like ‘Desktop 1’

As of now Microsoft has not announced any specific date of releasing the update. You can always check the availability of the update manually. Please follow the steps mentioned below:
